Hitting your car with shopping carts in the parking lot can also leave your vehicle pockmarked with unsightly dings and dents, and leave you frustrated, more especially if you have experienced it more often than not.

Car Dent Repair Tips

You don't need to be taking your vehicle to the body ahop all the time you have dents, you should be able to take care of the minor dents yourself. Taking it to the body shops, needless to say, will cost you money and even time, because depending on the number of vehicles on the queue, you may not have yours fixed in time.

Following very simple to do guides you can easily carry out car dent repair yourself and at your convenience and your pace, and of course with little amount of money.

There some body repair jobs you will not be able to handle yourself anyway, when you experience that you will need to visit a body shop, but even at that you have to seek for every advantage of price slash that you can get by trying to find out the shops that can give you discount and also quality job.

Car Dent Repair: Step By Step Guide

1. Closely examine the affected part of your car and study the extent of damage that has occurred, in some it might just be a bent or depression inward that you can just popped or tapped back out. This is the type of job you can just do yourself without much ado.

If there are ripples, bumps or folding in the metal body parts, then it might take you more work to do to be able to straighten it out or you can just take the vehicle to your body shop, because in situations like this, you will need to buy a new panel and replace the damaged one.

2. Do a through cleaning of the surface that has been affected by the dent using a washing solution, this will remove every dirts, paints and whatever can interfere with the tools you want to use for the job, and the repainting later. Dry the surface throughly after washing.

3. Get a plunger, just that simple item that we all have in the house to remove the dent, when you apply the plunger over the dent it gently send the air out as the surface depress and create a tight seal between the car body and the plunge rubber head. In this position pop the dent back out of the metal with a steady pull. You can use this method on the side panel where you cannot tap out the dent.

4. If the surface is flat, large and you can reach under it and tap it out, e.g your hood, floor, etc. The tools you need for this are an old towel, a rubber mallet and a block of wood. The block should be able to cover the surface dented and should be comfortably held in one hand.

Wrap the towel round the block of wood nd press it against the opposite surface you want to tap. With the rubber mallet tap gently at the dent, not rushing or hitting the edges. The block will help distribute the blow resulting in a flat smooth surface without scratching the areas surrounding the dent, nor removing paint.

For a more serious dent, you can visit a body shop for proper car dent repair. They use special repair kits with hot glues or suction devices, some also deals in paint free dent removal. You can have a wait-and get service where you want while they pop out the dent for you at a minimal fee an if their is no crease in the dent.

Whichever wait it might come, car dent repair should be quickly done to maintain the look of your vehicle and without taking too much from your pocket.
